Time to see if this engine runs!

I finally got to the stage to start this engine. I put the choke on, pump on, kill switch off and pressed the button. All it would do is the occasional bang and flames out the exhaust. I jumped on to some forums and realised that the distributor turns counter-clockwise. So I changed the firing sequence to match this. I tried to start again but still no difference. As I continued to read I found out that when aligning the distributer with #1 spark lead it needs to be at back 8 degrees not TDC. I realigned the distributor....pressed start and..... she started and idled beautifully!!
